App Data & Tracking Preferences
This section explains how the MuchBetter service uses Software Development Kits (SDKs) and similar tracking technologies within our mobile application, MuchBetter (“App”). The specific entity responsible for your data and providing the service (“we,” “us,” “our”) depends on your region of residence:
- For users in the United Kingdom and Rest of World regions (excluding EEA, Australia, and Canada): MIR Limited UK.
- For users in the European Economic Area (EEA): Quickpay UAB.
- For users in Australia: MIR AU Pty Ltd.
- For users in Canada: MIR Canada Financial Limited.
These technologies help us understand how you use our App, improve its functionality, provide personalized experiences, and deliver relevant advertising.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws in your jurisdiction. This includes, but is not limited to:
- The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the EEA (processed by Quickpay UAB).
- The Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) for users in Australia (processed by MIR AU Pty Ltd.).
- The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) for users in Canada (processed by MIR Canada Financial Limited).
- Applicable data protection laws for users in the UK and other regions (processed by MIR Limited UK).
What Tracking Technologies We Use
We integrate and use the following Google services, which act as tracking technologies:
- Google Analytics for Firebase (and Google Analytics): For understanding app usage, user engagement, event tracking, crash reporting (via Firebase Crashlytics), and measuring the effectiveness of features and campaigns.
- Firebase (various modules): Beyond basic analytics and crash reporting, we use Firebase for:
- Firebase Remote Config: To modify the app’s behavior and appearance without requiring an app update, allowing us to test features and personalize your experience.
- Firebase A/B Testing: To experiment with different versions of features or UI elements to determine which performs best.
- Firebase In-App Messaging: To send targeted, contextual messages to users while they are actively using the App.
These SDKs may collect and transmit information from your device to Google’s servers.
How We Use These Technologies and The Data Collected
We use the data collected through these technologies for the following purposes:
- App Analytics & Performance: To understand how users interact with our App (e.g., features used, screens visited, session duration, crash reports via Firebase Crashlytics, performance metrics). This helps us identify areas for improvement, fix bugs, and enhance user experience.
- Personalized Advertising: If you consent, to show you advertisements that are more relevant to your interests, both within our App (if applicable) and on other apps or websites.
- Remarketing: If you consent, to re-engage users who have previously interacted with our App with relevant advertising on other platforms.
- Conversion Tracking & Ad Measurement: To measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns (e.g., to understand if an ad led to an app install or a specific in-app action like a deposit).
- Improving App Functionality: To test new features (using Firebase A/B Testing), personalize content and app behavior (using Firebase Remote Config), deliver contextual messages (using Firebase In-App Messaging), and ensure the App is working correctly.
- Security: To help detect and protect against fraudulent activity, unauthorized transactions, and security risks.
The types of data that may be collected by these Google services (subject to your consent choices) can include:
- Device Information: Device model, operating system version, app version, mobile network information.
- Usage Data: Screens viewed, features used, in-app events (e.g., button taps, navigation, interactions with features), session duration, crash logs, performance data.
- Identifiers: Advertising IDs (like Google Advertising ID on Android or IDFA on iOS, if consent is given and tracking is enabled on your device), instance IDs for Firebase.
- IP Address: May be used to infer general geographic location and for security purposes. Google may process this information (e.g., by truncating it) to protect your privacy.
- Transaction Information: As an e-wallet, when you perform transactions (e.g., deposits, withdrawals, P2P transfers), relevant data (such as transaction type, amount, currency, timestamp, and potentially anonymized or aggregated data related to counterparties for risk analysis and analytics purposes) may be collected to measure conversions, analyze financial activity, and for security purposes.
Your Consent Choices (Inspired by Google Consent Mode)
We respect your privacy choices. Within our App, you have control over how your data is used for advertising and analytics purposes. We implement a system that communicates your choices to Google’s SDKs, similar to Google’s Consent Mode framework. For users in the EEA, we ensure that we process your data for non-essential purposes based on your explicit consent.
Specifically, you can manage your consent for:
- (Advertising Storage & Access): Controls whether storage (like device identifiers used for advertising) can be accessed or written for advertising purposes.
- (Analytics Storage & Access): Controls whether storage can be accessed or written for analytics purposes (e.g., app usage statistics).
- (User Data for Ads): Controls whether your data can be sent to Google for online advertising purposes (e.g., for personalized ads or remarketing lists).
- (Personalized Advertising): Controls whether your data can be used for personalized advertising (remarketing). If denied, you may still see ads, but they will be less relevant.
How your choices impact data collection:
- If you grant consent for specific purposes, the Google SDKs will collect and process data accordingly for those enabled purposes.
- If you decline consent for specific purposes, the Google SDKs will adjust their behavior. For example:
- If ad_storage or analytics_storage is denied, data collection for those purposes will be significantly limited or disabled.
- If ad_user_data or ad_personalization is denied, Google will not use your data from our App for building personalized advertising profiles or remarketing lists for you.
- Even with denied consent for some purposes, cookieless, aggregated, or anonymized “pings” might still be sent to Google for essential measurement (like conversion modeling to count conversions in an aggregated way without identifying you) or to maintain service integrity, but not for building personalized ad profiles.
Your consent preferences are stored locally on your device.
Managing Your Preferences
You can review and change your consent preferences at any time by:
- Navigating to the Home screen > Profile > Preferences section within the MuchBetter App.
- Device-Level Settings: Your mobile device operating system (e.g., iOS or Android) also provides options to control tracking for advertising purposes. These include:
- Resetting your Advertising ID.
- Opting out of Interest-Based Ads or Limiting Ad Tracking through your device’s privacy settings.
Please consult your device manufacturer’s instructions or your device’s settings menu for more information on these controls.
Please note that changing these settings may impact your experience with the App and the relevance of advertising you see.
Third-Party Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share the data collected through these tracking technologies only with Google, as the provider of the Firebase and Google Analytics services, to enable them to provide these services to us as described above. Google’s use of this data is governed by its own privacy policies and terms. We encourage you to review Google’s policies:
- Google Privacy & Terms: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Data Retention
We retain data collected through these technologies in accordance with Google’s default data retention settings for Google Analytics and Firebase, or as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy and in compliance with applicable laws. For example, Google Analytics for Firebase data retention can be configured, and we adhere to these settings.
Changes to this Section
We may update this information about our use of tracking technologies from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy within our App, updating the “last updated” date, or through other appropriate communication channels.
